Responsible for programming on specific application subsets of the company's application portfolio, participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle, typically for an assigned business unit, client program, or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and leads requirements gathering meetings. Owns the change request process and may coordinate with other teams as necessary.
 
The Developer Advisor position plays a key role in the development of AIM’s platform.  This platform powers our specialty care management solutions which support both our health plan partners and the members they cover.  We are looking for a new member for our platform engineering team who will be responsible for defining and supporting the shared tools and environments all developers use to build AIM applications and services. As engineers grow in this role, opportunities exist to grow into team lead, architecture or management roles.
 
Primary duties for the role may include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead a team of software developers in design, coding, and configuration of IT systems. Must ensure adherence to technical specifications, architectural design, and end-user requirements
  • Collaborate with architects, business, and developers to identify and define new enterprise framework and environment capabilities.
  • Independently estimate complex projects and determine resource needs based on team work load and project requirements.
  • Utilize industry leading concepts in software craftsmanship and ensure engineers on your team adhere to these principles.
  • Evaluate and adopt the latest software technologies and components so they deliver value for our teams, services and applications.
  • Understand both business and technical requests and requirements and integrate those needs into our build & development platform capabilities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement program to improve quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction. Champion test automation practices including unit testing and implementation of CI/CD.
  • Establish and lead a developer community across our solution development teams that enhances collaboration and improve quality
  • Share ideas and concepts with our development and architecture teams to improve and extend our development platform capabilities.
  • Improve the performance of the team by regularly reviewing our activities and identifying new ways of working together.
  • Work in cross-functional development environments to ensure our platform capabilities are used and supported in our products and services.
 

Requires BA/BS degree in related field or technical institute training; 5 or more years related experience; multi platform experience; , expert level experience with business and technical applications, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Incumbent should also have the ability to mentor others, lead multiple small projects and provide troubleshooting support. Multi dimensional required. Multi database and/or multi language preferred.
 
Qualified Candidates will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Platform Engineer Lead position will require minimum 5 years of programming experience in .NET Framework
  • Deep understanding of web service and SOA principles, ASP.NET MVC, C#, WCF, Web API, SOAP and RESTful Services.
  • Solid proficiency with HTML5/CSS3/Javascript, AngularJS, NodeJS, and ES6
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with SQL Server or Sybase
  • Experience with messaging technology such as RabbitMQ
  • Experience using GIT for source control
  • Deep understanding of SOLID software design principles.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
  • Extensive experience in working within Agile methodologies
  • Extensive experience in building automated tests
  • Experience with designing databases using both relational and document-based database technologies
  • Experience with creating assets consumed by other software teams.
  • Experience designing and implementing software with design patterns.
  • Experience authoring and maintaining development standards and guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.
