Responsible for programming on specific application subsets of the company's application portfolio, participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle, typically for an assigned business unit, client program, or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of software developers in design, coding, and configuration of IT systems. Must ensure adherence to technical specifications, architectural design, and end-user requirements.
  • Independently estimate complex projects and determine resource needs based on team work load and project requirements.
  • Utilize industry leading concepts in software craftsmanship and ensure engineers on your team adhere to these principles.
  • Coach junior engineers technical concepts and agile practices.
  • Work with product owners to understand application requirements. Work with other application teams to identify opportunities for collaboration and to establish common standards.
  • Perform tests and validate data flows and prepare ETL processes according to business requirements and incorporate business requirements into design specifications.
  • Documents technical and system specifications documents for ETL processes and perform unit tests on processes and prepare required programs and scripts.
  • Participate in continuous improvement program to improve quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction. Champion test automation practices including unit testing and implementation of CI/CD.
  • Be passionate about technology, stay on top of technology trends and encourage innovation.
 

Requires BA/BS degree in related field or technical institute training; 5 or more years related experience; multi platform experience; expert level experience with business and technical applications, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Incumbent should also have the ability to mentor others, lead multiple small projects and provide troubleshooting support. Multi dimensional required. Multi database and/or multi language preferred.
  • Min 5 years of software development experience. Java experience preferred
  • Exposure to various operating systems – UNIX, Linux, Windows
  • Expertise with ETL Tool: Microsoft SSIS, DataStage preferred.
  • Experience working with SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2014/2016, T-SQL scripts and stored procedures.
  • Experience working with Sybase and MongoDB a plus
  • Extensive experience with complex joins, sub-queries, building temp tables, cursors, set-based operations, and data manipulation.
  • Knowledge of Relational Database Management System (RDMS) principles.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Sound understanding of BI Best Practices/Methodologies, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, and structured query language (SQL) skills.
  • Experience in working within Agile methodologies
  • Experience in building automated tests
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and schedule work assignments
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong ability to resolve complex problems and issues.
  • Business Process Management (BPM) experience preferred.
  • EDI 278 Health Care Services experience preferred
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.
