The Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for supporting the modeling of the financial impact of formulary decisions for the Commercial line of business and reconciling projected impacts to actual results. Assists in the determination of rates. Analyzes, develops and validates statistical data.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities include:    
  • Populating pharmacy cost of care models
  • Extracting data using SAS
  • Ad hoc analysis to support modeling assumptions
  • Data validation for actuarial analyses
  • Model expansion to accommodate growing organizational needs
  • Under limited supervision, applies the appropriate actuarial analytical tools to the data and performs preliminary actuarial and statistical analysis.
  • Updates actuarial pricing, valuation and forecasting models as directed.
  • Refines and collects appropriate data for actuarial analysis and ensures its reasonableness and accuracy by coordination within the ty/Veteran
Qualifications include: 
  • Experience through an actuarial internship
  • Required to have passed at least one Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) actuarial exams
    • Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
  • BS/BA degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Economics
  • Must be able to work in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with high learning agility
  • Ability to self-manage time and review the work of peers for accuracy
  • Must display a strong commitment to teamwork and have the ability to work in a collaborative environment
