Benefits Analyst III-Remote within 50 miles commuting distance to Indianapolis-IN, Richmond-VA, Virginia Beach/Norfolk-VA, Midland-GA, Denver-CO, Mason-OH, Tampa-FL, Fond du Lac-WI, South Portland-ME
Responsible for identifying complex business needs and translates the needs into application software requirements in
support of operations, productions, and projects.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Designs and builds new complex non-standard benefit plans
- Reviews and analyzes benefit summaries
- Identifies best approach to code/develop benefits to achieve optimum adjudication level
- Maintains avoidance to negative financial, regulatory, and operational impact
- Performs testing and quality assurance of new product developed
- Researches and analyzes RFP proposals and product projects
- Creates and maintains issue log on appropriate tool
- Resolves defects based on knowledge and analysis of system functionality
- Researches and responds to complex inquiries from various departments
- May consult with and mentor less experienced team members
- Serves as trainer for standard and highly customized benefit configuration
- Represents department in production related meetings including product development, design, and implementation
- Monitors the performance of network systems in order to identify any issues and routinely performs analysis on system tools and interfaces
- Works with the IT team to determine the appropriate system and/or architecture solution for the current problem as well as mitigate future issues.
- Works with IT team to implement necessary upgrades, patches or troubleshooting to solve problems and document the changes by following all change management procedures.
- Proactively communicate upcoming infrastructure changes to management, and work with the workforce to smooth transitions and decrease any negative impact on business
- identify opportunities to use emerging technology to increase efficiency and flexibility. They may formulate improvement plans and pitch them to leadership.
- Must be able to perform all duties of lower level positions as directed by management

Benefits Analyst III requires:
- Flexible and reliable worker, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks 
- BA/BS degree in a related field
- 3-5 years experience in claims processing, previous medical health care, analytical experience, or project management experience  
- Preferred – certified business analyst and/or certified coder, Six Sigma experience 
- 3-5 + years of benefit coding experience very strongly preferred
- Prior experience building benefit plans, pricing benefits, or building documents preferred 
- FACETS experience strongly preferred 
- or any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background
