This position reports to the Data Warehouse Team that is part of the Technical Enterprise Information Management team. This position is responsible for all aspects of the configuration and maintenance of our Enterprise reporting platforms, primarily focusing on Business Objects, QlikSense and QlikView, along with supporting Reporting Services team. Will act as the domain subject matter expert for the company.
 

Responsibilities:
 
Service Design and Transition
  • Designs system based upon best practices with repeatable standard configurations
  • Designs processes and services with a focus on the long term and operational maintainability
  • Tests changes prior to production implementation
  • Documents system configurations
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.  Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
Service Operations
  • Effectively maintain and manage the reporting environments (Development, UAT, and Production) including: installation, configuration, patching (software and security), maintenance, user management, and report management
  • Ensures all systems and systems access adheres to Company Guidelines and Policies.
  • Creates proactive monitoring services to capture and report availability and performance characteristics
  • Perform daily system monitoring to capture, verify and report the integrity and availability of the BI environments.
  • Creates backup and recovery processes for production systems that meet or exceed recovery objectives
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.  Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
  • Create, change, and delete user accounts per request
  • Apply software patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
Capacity planning
  • Provide on-call support
  • Provide assistance with other areas of information technologies, reporting team and support team members
  • Adheres to Change Management and Release Management policy
  •  Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
Project Support
  • Provides technical expertise and architectural guidance
  • Estimates level of effort and creates action plans for project deliverables
  • Meets project deliverables and documents solutions based upon project needs
  • Communicates and transfers knowledge to peers and project team members
  • Supports Software Development in project tasks and administration of development environments
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Contribute to and maintain system standards
 
 
 
 
Requires BA/BS degree in related field and 6 or more years experience; multi platform experience; expert level experience two or more BI applications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Experience with multiple Business Intelligence tools required. Multi database and multi language preferred.  
Qualification Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience in administration of Business Objects systems and environments; similar experience with QlikView and QlikSense.
  • 5+ years of experience managing Windows systems
  • Demonstrable knowledge of all aspects of Business Objects and QlikView/QlikSense administration including: security, networking, backup and recovery, performance management/tuning, and system monitoring in clustered, high availability systems
  • Excellent understanding of Web-Intelligence tools (both browser and rich client), UDT and IDT
  • Knowledge of SAP BOBJ/WEBI SDKs and ability to work with Developers interfacing applications with BO
  • Development experience with BO, QlikView or QlikSense is a plus.
  • A technology-driven mindset with the ability to think independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with others and complete projects within tight deadlines with limited resources
  • Proven ability to gather and analyze information skillfully, develop alternative solutions
  • Maintains up-to-date awareness of industry developments and best practices in their area of specialization.
