BI Solutions Engineer Executive Advisor

The Solutions Engineer Executive Advisor is a hands-on role that designs, prototypes and develops software components that organize and rationalize Anthem systems and information assets in the provider and clinical domains in order to ensure business and IT alignment.  Deliverables include technical evaluations, component prototypes, and complete software components as well as architecture documents, vendor assessments, technical recommendations, operational business architecture, blueprints reference architectures, and technology assessments. This role leads solution architecture across multiple analytical projects, collaborates with business and IT partners and participates in architecture governance activities. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Recommends solutions and/or new technologies based upon business value drivers, proven architecture principles, patterns and return on investment in provider enablement and clinical analytics. 
  • Establishes overall systems architecture vision and ensures specific components are appropriately designed and leveraged. 
  • Defines architecture reference documentation and helps to enforce standards.   Anticipates areas where architecture standards may need to be developed that are in-line with customer, IT and industry standards.
  • Defines the architecture frameworks  required to implement large complex cross-functional projects in provider enablement, member and clinical analytics. 
  • Defines cloud-based solution architecture framework for multi-tenant/Multi payer adjacency products in provider enablement and provider and clinical analytics.
  • Collaborates with IT delivery teams and ensures that the construction of architecture components (e.g. domain architecture, solution architecture and technical architecture) aligns with architecture strategies. 
  • Prototypes, and in some cases fully develops software components for reuse across IT delivery teams. 
  • Works with business units to translate business strategy into discrete capabilities and helps to identify technology capability gaps in systems.
  • Develops and maintains an architectural blueprint and evolutionary roadmap that defines and communicates the strategic direction for these architectures in support of business and technical strategies.  Explains how the technical roadmap maintains and delivers cost effectiveness, business value, and competitiveness. 
  • Develops innovative technology approaches to solve business problems and is usually sought out as an expert in this field. 
  • Participates in  architecture governance  processes and community of practice.
  • Authors white papers and other documentation to foster innovative technology concepts or a point of view for management.
  • Performs IT due diligence to help guide rationalization decisions or systems assessments.  
  • Analyze capabilities mapping of incoming project work to existing enterprise solutions.
  • Identify and document gaps in the current capabilities model.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year Information Architecture roadmap for business portfolio, showing the roadmap for applications and integrations.
  • Work closely with other Enterprise Solution Architects to ensure a strong working relationship, common understanding of architecture roadmaps and foster a collaborative approach to managing the enterprise architecture.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of the Information Architecture is maintained.
  • Conduct technology reviews and audits that ensure solutions systems are built Enterprise standards and are optimized to maximum efficiency.
  • Interface with external business partners, vendors and subcontractors on issues of interoperability.
  • Keep current with cross industry technology trends to identify technologies that may benefit the business.
Requires an BA/BS degree in related field or technical institute training; 10 or more years’ experience; multi-platform experience, expert level experience with business and technical applications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Incumbent should also have the ability to mentor others, lead multiple or large projects and provide troubleshooting support. Demonstrated leadership skills in both business and IT context to drive teams to achieve results. Multi-dimensional required. Multi database and/or multi language preferred.

 
  • Big Data Technologies Certification
  • Enterprise Architecture Knowledge of TOGAF
  • Knowledge of Scrum and Agile project Delivery
Primary Skills: Apache Spark , Scala, Python, Hadoop Cloudera ,Hive ,PIG Latin, Sqoop, HBase, Flume, Kafka, Oozie, Atlas, HDFS, Pentaho Kettle , YARN
Ability to tune and troubleshoot resource allocation across the cluster and define User Consumption patterns
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Practical experience designing integration (EAI) solutions, constructing n-tier applications, and delivering complex technology solutions in a large corporate environment.
  • Exposure to structured architecture methodology such as TOGAF.
  • Exposure to UML, Archimate, or similar formal modeling frameworks.
  • Ideally exposure to an Enterprise Management tool like iServer
  • Exposure to similar tooling such as Sparx Enterprise Architect for creating business context diagrams.
  • Sharepoint experience and light Sharepoint development experience a plus.
  • Experience conducting RFP and POC assessments of tools and vendor selection.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare payer business, specifically provider operations, including certification, services and networks.
