Location: Thousand Oaks, CA office
The Business Info Analyst Sr. is responsible for analyzing, reporting and developing recommendations on data related to complex and varied business metrics. This role supports customers in the areas of analytics, economic analysis and reporting, and cost of care analytics, trend analysis, and reporting for assigned health plan; supports reporting and delivery of key information to generate cost saving or revenue enhancement ideas and achievement of financial targets. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyzes data and summarizes performance.
  • Ensures accuracy and timeliness of output and deliverables.
  • Communicates with customers about technical issues in non-technical terms.
  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
  • Communicates findings or report information in clear and concise terms to upper management and / or in group setting.
  • Based on business identification of a business issue, candidate will work with other business associates to understand requirements, identify appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking measures, best presentation in SQL, or Tableau, and translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.

Job Requirements


  • BA/BS in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; 3-5 years of experience in health care analytics, financial reporting, business analysis within health insurance/managed care environment, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Medicaid experience is preferred but not required.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including advanced pivot table functions, macros, and complex formulas as well as intermediate SQL skills are required.
  • Experience with Tableau reporting software highly desirable.
  • Must be able to work well under tight deadlines, and be able to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills desired.
