The Business Info Consultant, healthcare, will support Anthem’s California Commercial business by performing drill down analysis into medical cost results and consulting cross-functionally to identify, assess, and track actions to address trends. This role serves as an expert in data analysis and in formulating recommendations on potential cost of care actions by developing usable decision support models.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:



  • Review and summarize data to identify contributing factors to medical cost trend.
  • Build decision support models supporting cost of care analysis and measurement.
  • Work cross-functionally to determine the most appropriate information source and relevant variables.
  • Develop and analyze business performance reports (e.g. for claims, provider, clinical, and utilization data) and determine performance deviations and anomalies.
  • Make recommendations based upon data analysis, communicating findings in clear and concise terms to a variety of audiences.
 

  • BA/BS degree in related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is required. Ability to manipulate large sets of data.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to deliver presentations formally and informally in both in-person and virtual settings.
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment and proactive approach to obtain answers within deadlines.
  • Consultative and investigative mindset as demonstrated through past work experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot table functions.
  • Experience with healthcare terminology, data, and analytics highly desired.
  • Experience with data visualization reporting software a plus.
  • Knowledge of California healthcare delivery systems a plus.
