The CareMore General Manager will serve as the business & operational leader for a new market in CareMore’s Primary Care & Collaboration area and is responsible for leading CareMore’s local market business and clinical operations to successfully deliver on organization and market goals, including operational excellence, financial success, growth, and clinical outcomes.  The General Manager will be partner to the market physician leader (Regional Medical Officer), who holds accountability for clinical results market-wide and leads the clinical strategy and team.  The General Manager will have management responsibility for clinical operations (clinical partners, operations manager), business operations, care management & engagement (case management, social work, community health workers) community and provider outreach, and be responsible for successful hiring, retention, staff development, and performance management.
This is a significant business and operations leadership role in an organization with proven results and a national footprint.  As such, candidates should have proven team management experience and the ability to develop and deepen relationships across CareMore’s Primary Care & Collaboration division and the broader organization. The General Manager will report to the Primary Care & Collaboration business leadership and join a national group of leaders across CA, AZ, NV, TN, IA, GA, and CT.
Core Competencies & Duties
  • Able to flex between strategy development and operational execution
  • Hands-on clinical operations leadership experience (including team leadership and development; patient and community engagement; and field-based practice operations, among other functions), preferably managing in the primary care / outpatient setting, or in the home-based setting
  • Experience managing costs / budgets for care delivery partnerships, including capitated and / or value-based payment models
  • Strong belief in and passion for CareMore’s clinical model and care philosophy
  • Roll-up your sleeves attitude and ability to work in an agile “start-up” environment, including the ability to lead within ambiguous settings; strong team-building and presence; internal motivation and drive; and track record of delivering results
  • Ability to drive partnership and execution with key stakeholders, including health plan leadership, community organizations, and major provider partners
  • Aptitude for strategic thinking with the ability to identify, leverage, and spread CareMore best practice while demonstrating a continuous innovation mindset
  • Ability to forge strong relationships with physicians and other healthcare leaders, and identify new opportunities to support CareMore’s growth
  • Strong communications and executive presence
  • Experience hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and evaluating performance of direct reports
  • Strong strategic managed care perspective for complex populations and ability to lead expansion of services across Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial populations
General Managers focus on overseeing the day-to-day for a single market and team, across business operations, clinical operations, care management & engagement, community & provider outreach. 
Work location and travel expectations:
This role is located in Fort Worth, TX.  Most travel is based in market including travel within the state to support the market, team, and operations, as well as periodic travel to NY (Primary Care & Collaboration leadership), CA (CareMore central leadership), and other markets (overall 70-80% in-market, 20-30% estimated total travel)

Job Requirements

  • Requires a BA in a related field; 10 years of leadership/management experience in health care management and/or product marketing with a history of significant business results; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
  • MBA preferred
  • Proven experience managing teams to deliver impact preferred
  • 5-10 years of experience in care delivery operations and leadership or equivalent across top-tier care delivery, consulting, managed care, or other healthcare organizations preferred
  • Strong strategic and operational analytic capabilities, including financial analysis and budgeting, and facility with PowerPoint, Excel, and other management tools / clinical application preferred
  • Travel required
