Content Marketing Manager / Strategist, Member Communications Strategy & Performance
Our team is on a mission to use storytelling to help consumers live healthier lives – and understand how their health benefits work. We’re looking for an expert content marketer who is just as passionate as we are to join us. Do you have the heart of a storyteller who can find stories in everyday topics; the nose of an editor who can develop and inspire fresh ideas and also find right angle for business-driven topics; the eye of a copyeditor with a keen attention to detail; and the analytic mind of a digital marketer. If so, we have an exciting opportunity to manage every aspect of our consumer blog – from strategy to analytics – and the dissemination of its content, which includes oversight of the blog’s member newsletter.
The primary responsibilities of our Marketing Communications Manager include; but are not limited to the following:
  • Oversee Anthem’s consumer blog and its member newsletter(s), serving as an advocate for our content marketing practice and helping the organization understand the value of its contributions.
  • Establish and manage editorial calendar that is aligned to seasonal and business priorities.
  • Drive editorial planning with internal partners including Clinical, Specialty, Health and Wellness, Product, as well as SEO, Brand and Corporate Communications
  • Establish and manage editorial calendar that is aligned to seasonal and business priorities.
  • Oversee all aspects of content creation including managing creative partners, facilitating workflow, reviewing and uploading content, and managing budget.
  • Produce monthly member newsletter.
  • Ensure content adheres to internal requirements including brand voice, content strategy and blog guidelines, as well as overall best practices for optimal content consumption.
  • Review and refine metadata.
  • Build and manage blog Sharepoint site.
  • Provide strategic support to internal partners by proactively offering relevant blog content and other content-related guidance that may be used to bolster other member campaigns.
  • Support monthly reporting as needed and gather analytics from social, email and portal.
  • Track distribution of content usage across Anthem channels (social, email, portal, etc.)
  • Produce quarterly metrics reports.
  • Partner with marketing operations team on necessary technical and design updates.
  • BA/BS degree
  • 8+ years of experience in some combination of content marketing, content strategy, PR and journalism
  • A strategic thinker who takes initiative and solves problems
  • Experience managing all aspects of content development, publishing and distribution including email, social (organic and paid), native advertising
  • Understanding and working knowledge of SEO and email best practices
  • Proven history of driving initiatives from conception through execution
  • Experience within the healthcare, insurance or financial industries a plus
  • Experience with content marketing platforms preferred
  • Ability to lead projects with minimal supervision
