Innovation Studio - Software Engineer
 
The Anthem Innovation Studio is a highly performant, cross functional, co-located team of individuals working together to provide unique value to the Anthem organization.  We believe that one of the keys to our success is that we have created a physical environment in Midtown Atlanta that allows us to be collaborative, spontaneous and creative.  A healthy work life balance is also very important to our success. 
 
Our team needs a Mid to Senior Level Full Stack Software Engineer who can be a part of our collaborative team. This person will thrive as a multi-disciplined contributor on an agile scrum team, solving complex problems, working on designs and architecture, and bringing experience to the team. Taking ownership and operating with an entrepreneurial spirit will be a key to success.
 
The day to day Innovation Studio life is a collaborative setting working with a cross functional team, learning and teaching, adapting to a technology innovation process, interacting with executives, vendors, partners to bring high value ideas to life.
 
Cultural Elements

  • Interest or experience in being on a team who actively participate in product definition
  • Self starter with the ability to manage complex work assignments while collaborating with other developers
  • Experience working with UI/UX designers to build compelling applications and solutions
  • Ability to articulate and present ideas and technical designs to the development team as well as other business stakeholders
  • Ability to source your own ideas and apply them to the healthcare domain.
  • Experience with multiple programming languages and the ability to switch between them depending on the need
  • Must have 4+ years of experience working in an agile environment
  • Requires BA/BS degree or technical institute training
  • Knowledge in technical design and architecture patterns
  • Overall appreciation for testing and its vital role in the development process
  • Must be willing to take on and learn brand new technologies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 4+ years of software development experience using technologies, platforms and frameworks such as
    • iOS
    • Android
    • node.js
    • Spring
    • React
    • Angular JS
    • Containers (Docker)
    • APIs (REST)
    • Devops (Jenkins, Bamboo, Git, JIRA, Pivotal, Trello, etc.)
    • Databases (SQL, NoSQL)
