Financial Business Project Manager
Mason, OH is preferred, may consider other locations
Responsible for translating complex and varied business needs into application software requirements for Information Technology (IT) Plan of Record (POR) projects and Small System Change Requests (SSCRs). Provides subject matter expertise in response to the business needs, tests and implements the system requirements, and manages multiple IT projects simultaneously. Ensures that all Accounting & Reporting deliverables are completed on time for those projects by managing responses, leading meetings, following up with resources and managing timelines. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Determines specific business requirements to address complex and varied business needs as a Business Analyst or Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Leads and/or participates in meetings with Accounting & Reporting or Finance business partners collaborate on requirements, reviews testing needs and reviews IT solution around application and implementation of technology.
  • Defines project team roles and responsibilities, project schedules for Accounting & Reporting and develops operational readiness plans
  • Collaborates with IT and reviews solutions to address complex and varied business needs.
  • Develops test plans, scenarios, test cases and performs business user acceptance testing.
  • Communicates plans, status and issues to management related to the IT projects and SSCRs during regularly scheduled meetings.
  • Serve as the liaison between business and IT and schedules meetings as needed to lead any applicable discussions.
  • Provides expertise to Accounting teams and other business areas.
  • Conducts root cause analysis of financial processes and issues, identifies and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • May lead teams of associates and mentors, coaches and trains lower level associates.
Requires a BS/BA in Accounting or Finance; 6 years of experience in general accounting, finance or budgeting and planning; 5 years of business analysis experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Ability to travel may be required.
JIRA experience is strongly preferred.  Any experience with claims source systems is also preferred.  Previous insurance background or experience preferred.
