Responsible for maintaining Information Technology (IT)strategies by researching and implementing technological strategic solutions toensure the streamlined operation of the IT department. This individual willmanage one or more of the Enterprise Commission products (1. Licensing &Credentialing, 2. Internal Sales Compensation, 3. External Sales Compensation).

Primary duties may include, butare not limited to:

  • Oversees a technical team of Anthem associates and contractors
  • Supports software system solutions
  • Recommends creative means to utilize this team’s capabilities and strengths in areas that can be helpful to the larger organization
  • Develops strong working relationships with other internal organizations
  • Develops and implements appropriate staffing strategies.
  • Provides business relationship management
  • Develops a strong team through training and effective organizational development practices
  • Evaluates all directives, change orders, and projects as to their impact on tactical plans, budgets, and contract compliance
  • Manages the communication portfolio for the team, ensuring effective means of communication are in place for the larger organization
  • Oversees and implements new subsystems, procedures and techniques
  • Manages implementation/integration projects to ensure deliverables
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with the business partners and other IT organizations, serving as their primary point of contact for the functions supported
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports

Job Requirements


  • Requires a BA/BS in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or related field
  • 5 years of experience leading project teams, application software development, maintenance or implementation and support
  • 10 years of management experience (including lead/training/other related experience); or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
  • Strong Customer Focus
  • Health insurance industry experience is required, and Anthem experience is a plus
  • Expertise in relevant tools and technical skills
  • Ability to manage across geographically diverse associates and vendor partners
  • Strong Project Management skills and proven experience with providing executive level status on portfolio execution, vendor management and financial analysis
  • Strong tactical planning, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and detailed, tactical levels
  • Effective communication skills, including documentation, facilitation, consultation, negotiation and persuasion 
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, counsel and train staff
  • Comfortable with change and working with ambiguity
  • Experience in Waterfall and Agile Methodologies
