Job Description

Anthem is seeking a Technical Manager to join our ITPerformance Management team.   The IT Performance Management team ischartered to work with internal customers to design and build innovative dashboardand reporting / analytic solutions to help Anthem’s IT Leadership manage theperformance of the IT function.  

This role will manage a team responsible for developing andmanaging companywide metrics, dashboards and reporting and oversee thesupporting tools/environment. You will work alongside IT and Business Leadershipto understand how customers/ management adopt and use metrics/ reporting to managedrive performance improvements.  The ideal candidate has strong managementskills, strong analytical skills, thinks “outside the box”, is naturally curious,highly collaborative, and has a passion for tackling complex data-centricproblems.

What you will do:

  • Oversee a Performance Management/ Business Intelligence reporting and analytics team (i.e. Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports)
  • Help to develop and maintain product development strategy and roadmap prioritization to ensure the streamlined operation and relevant capabilities for internal Performance Management team
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key business partners to work on ways to better understand how customers use key performance indicators/ reports and what drives deeper adoption and usage of performance metrics
  • Manage one or more development projects which includes working with customers to design, build and maintain data and reporting/ dashboard solutions to support IT Leadership and the IT function
  • Tackle complex problems requiring a creative mindset to find innovative and elegant solutions

Job Requirements

What You Will Need to Succeed:


  • BS/MS in the field of Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Solutions or other relevant field
  • 5 years of applicable work experience leading technical teams or application/ software development projects
  • 3 years of management experience
  • or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
  • Good communication skills and ability to explain complex topics to a non-technical audience
  • Preferences:


Ex  Experience working with data analysis and visualization toolssuch as Excel, Tableau, and Business Objects

•        Experience working with databases and database tools such as Access, MS SQL or other SQL/NoSQLdatabases

•        Experience in healthcare or healthcare related industries

•        Ability to analyze and summarize data from various subjects
