The Network Operations Analyst Advisor will be a member of the AIM Network Operations Center (NOC) Infrastructure team.  This position requires advanced knowledge of NOC operations as well as level 1 server administration knowledge.
Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Analysis and diagnosis of technical problems related to infrastructure incidents
  • Perform technical support and dispatch in support of incident escalations and technical resolutions
  • Administer and configure infrastructure monitoring systems (SCOM)
  • Install and cable physical hardware within AIM’s data centers
  • Ensure proper maintenance of critical power/cooling equipment within AIM’s data centers
  • Assist with design for new hardware implementations
  • Assist with network maintenance/changes/additions
  • Determine the effectiveness and efficiency of existing server systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
  • Ensure system connectivity of all servers and other applications
  • Report on compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems
  • Prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports
  • Mentor junior NOC technicians
 
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • On the job experience with technical skills training may substitute the degree requirement.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager Software
  • Previous experience with racking and cabling server and appliance chassis such as HP, IBM, Cisco etc.
  • Prefer previous experience with WASP Mobile Asset Management Software
  • Ability to work shift hours such as days, nights or weekends when required (9am-5pm, M-F will be the normal shift), while filling a weekly rotational On-Call schedule
  • Familiar with network gear such as switches, routers, and basic networking concepts
  • Prefer one of the following certifications: MCSA or greater, VCA-DBT or greater.
  • Experience with HP and/or Dell Server Hardware
  • Experience with server virtualization troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with various monitoring tools e.g vROPs, SCOM, etc
  • Windows server administration experience - Windows Servers (2008 – 2016)
  • Prefer skillset with scripting, including PowerShell, PowerCLI, etc
  • Experience with server patching and deployment systems
  • Experience with Ticket systems and ticket resolution.
  • Strong Documentation and Communication skills
  • Willing to travel around the Chicagoland area, and around the U.S. if needed
