This position will work out of AIM's Chicago IL / Deerfield, IL office location.

The Web Usability Analyst is accountable for AIM’s solution user interaction designs and user experience research, and leads efforts to: translate requirements and user stories to define, design and test the solution and communicate enhancements. The web usability analyst consistently improves the quality of our solution designs through iterative feedback loops and alignment.
 
One of our highest priority projects is re-designing and re-platforming our online solutions and related applications used by provider offices all across the country, and by our call centers in Illinois and California.  To support this shift, we are also building a new design system as a key reference for everyone (style guide, interaction guide, content and copy guide).  It’s challenging, and we’re excited about it.
 
Primary duties include but are not limited to:
  • During user interface design and research activities, you’ll learn, collaborate, create, analyze and deliver designs and research to support our solution portfolio
  • Ensure that the design direction incorporates business drivers, operations workflows, user stories, requirements, user insights and user-centered design opportunities
  • As a designer, you’ll help decide how our online solutions will look and behave.  You’ll work with many stakeholders from our business, operations and clinical teams
  • As a researcher, you’ll create usability and design research plans, and carry them out with people who use our software solutions—from referral agents to nurses to physicians—in our call centers and with provider offices nationwide
  • Provides key reports and analytical insights to identify solution improvements/address challenges
  • Steep yourself in knowledge and challenges of the healthcare industry, and work alongside a strong team of designers and developers.



The qualified candidate will have:
  • BA/BS in Interaction Design, Web/Graphic Design, Web Product Design, Web Development required
  • or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
  • Advanced degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) or closely related discipline.  Qualifying fields include but are not limited to: Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology (Cognitive or Experimental), Interface Design, and Computer Science preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field, with 1-3 years of experience in user experience, interaction design and research in a product development team required
  • Familiarity with current usability research, theories and methodologies (especially user-centered design processes), as well as understanding of how human factors impact ROI and the product development lifecycle
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, oral, presentation, and listening
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners
  • Flexibility to pivot and re-focus on emerging priorities
  • Demonstrated product design and research successes
  • Experience in enterprise level physician portals and call-center applications are a plus
